Danfoss engineers solutions that increase machine productivity, reduce emissions, lower energy consumption, and enable electrification. Our solutions are used in such areas as refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, power conversion, motor control, industrial machinery, automotive, marine, and off-highway and on-highway equipment. We also provide solutions for renewable energy, such as solar and wind power, as well as district-energy infrastructure for cities. Our innovative engineering dates back to 1933. Danfoss is family-owned, employing more than 40,000 people, and serving customers in more than 100 countries through a global footprint of 95 factories.
Our Danfoss campus in Ames, Iowa, is our largest in North America, with approximately 1,100 employees. In addition to production and operations support for Hydrostatics products, such as propel pumps and motors, open circuit pumps, and gear pumps and motors, our Ames team supports other production locations an array of other innovative solutions for the future, including sensors, controllers and joysticks.
Our Application Development Center (ADC) in Ames, is one of three such testing centers that Danfoss Power Solutions utilizes to help customers improve machine performance and decrease time to market. These innovative facilities, which are a true industry differentiator, allow our engineers to work closely with customers to create new ways to maximize machine performance. Danfoss Power Solutions engineers work with customers to develop their systems and then test, prove, demonstrate and refine the results on actual machines and our on-site test vehicles. This helps make customers’ equipment design and production more cost effective, while getting to market more quickly.
In addition to manufacturing and engineering operations, our Ames campus also serves as the administrative home to many support functions for Danfoss Power Solutions, Danfoss Group and our Danfoss North America Region. These include Sales & Marketing, IT, Procurement, Global Services, Finance and Human Resources.
